I guess they did. The way it goes is:

A customer comes in, pays for his groceries and the bagger offers to help him carry his groceries to his car. He asks if a nearby 13-year-old bagger girl can do it. The first bagger asks her. She says no way. He (the first bagger) suspects something's up and asks the cashier to look up the customer's ID. It turns out the customer is a pedophile in their area who has kidnapped and raped several teenage girls. They tell the manager, who tells the guy to leave, revealing they know who he is. He tries to say he's changed. The original bagger asks him why he would request a teenage girl help him. The guy, knowing he's been caught, says he was framed and races out the store.

The reason I consider it scary is because it just shows how "monsters" and "creeps" can be where you'd never suspect. And you can face one and not even know.

Honestly, if someone is a repeat sex offender, and their urges cannot be controlled, they should be locked up for the safety of others. Thank goodness for that bagger's vigilance.
