It was "Lights" and it wasn't any better the second time I heard it today. What is with all this truly terrible pop music. THANK GOD 101.9 came back as alternative instead of that sucky talk radio format they tried. I was left with one good station to listen to.

I heard a horrible cover of Depeche Mode's Strange Love today. I wanted to shove ice picks in my ears.

Disclaimer: I love Depeche mode, but this cover was horrible.

I tend to appreciate almost all types of music and truly enjoy 95% of it for one reason or another. What can I say, I just love music, it is my vice. Normally repetition is not an issue for me, I can tune things out quite well. However, hands down "Jesus Take the Wheel" by Carrie Underwood is the worst. While it is not necessarily a Christmas song, but is set in the Winter the radio stations seem to think it needs to be played ad nauseam around Christmas. I wish just once that the car would go careening into the icy ditch and end the song sooner rather than later. Such violence this song produces in me.

Anything by Cher Lloyd. Musically speaking her songs are catchy enough but the messages in her songs especially "Want U Back" are just full retard status. I'm glad I'm past the age where I have to worry about my female counterparts being impressionable because if this next generation is raised hearing shit like that then... I don't even know. I have no faith in this next generation anyway. :|

The radio station they have on at our gym is the same drivel, day in and day out, and the guy and girl running the show are vapid tards. You can walk in at 6.15 and know every song they're going to be playing before you leave at 7.45. Of the current rotation, I actually don't mind "The Motto" but "Lights", "Whistle", Usher's "Scream" and Katy effing Perry drive me nuts - on a really bad day you get two Katy Perry songs a frigging hour!!

A bunch of us complained and asked for Sirius back, but apparently they cancelled the subscription. Ugh.

Pikasam, we have the same crap-pop stations on at my gym. I asked them why the couldn't tune it to one of the alternative rock stations, and I was told people complained about those stations. For the life of me, I cannot figure out who thinks "Call Me Maybe" is worth listening to, but Pearl Jam is not. We have no teenage girls at the gym, and I am reasonably sure the weighlifter guys aren't requesting the Katy Perry. I think the girls behind the desk like it and just lie about the complaints. That would explain why most of the gym members are always wearing headphones. But if they have it turned up to 11, it's still hard to drown out "Baby, you're a fiiiiiiiirewoooooork!" without simultaneously deafening yourself.

All I can guess is that maybe the pop crap has a good beat that makes it ideal for exercising? That's the only reason I listen to *some* of it...but I usually have my mp3 player anyway.

Hahahahaha, touche!! I dunno whether Sirius was actually what they had, or whether it was a CBC Galaxie station or the like, but whatever it was ... was a whole bunch better than AmpRadio.
