Two of my mom's cousins never had children. I tolerated them. Didn't tolerate their husbands at all. When I was younger I thought they were strange. As I got older I KNEW they were strange and glad they didn't have any kids.

There were very very few childfree/less adults while I was growing up. There always seemed to be an air of pity directed toward them. "How sad they never had kids". "No, no. No, they didn't have any" - in hushed, reverent tones. I can't think of any of them that I didn't like. I thought it was different - but oh well. Was a non-issue for me.
