A New Crime Wave of Identity Theft: Is Your Child in Danger?
A really good reason to be childfree, I think. No kids means no worrying about anyone's identity but my own!

What's even sadder, is in a lot of cases(not all), it's the parents who are stealing their kids' identity.

To be honest, I have to wonder why a parent would tell a child their social security number at such a young age, if they do. I didn't learn mine until I was 16.

I didn't even have a social security number until I got my first job. What's the reason behind a kid getting a SS# as soon as it's crapped out? Is it the government wanting to track all the tax deductions, or what?
