No, she knew beforehand that's all there was. It'd been that way for about two weeks.

Either way she was just trying to show you, and in turn she just ended up showing you she is controlling and crazy, good on your for getting your own bank account. Like I said before only meet in public if you want to, don't let her guilt you. When people show you who they are believe them.

My mother is calling the house phone now. She called twice last night and twice just a half hour ago. I don't think I should answer, but I am wondering what she could possibly want.

I'd say, the most important question here is: Do you know what you want? I wouldn't answer the phone until you do. I'm doing the same thing with my family. I think it might be good to get your feelings and needs sorted before you talk with them.

That's it: I don't want to talk with her. But she seemed to cut me as well, which is why I'm wondering why the heck she's calling.

Normally if this were a friend, a good email saying that you don't want to talk to them would be good. But this is family so it is tougher, I imagine that she is going to call your grandfather or someone else in the family that is close to you and cry and all of a sudden you will be flooded with phone calls asking, "Why are you being so mean to your mom. She's your MOM!"

Unbelievable. Un-fucking-believable! Now, my mom's here in my house, accusing ME of lying (she's talking to my grandfather)! I swear, she just LIVES to start shit.

ETA: Luckily, she didn't stay long, but ugh! She's nothing but a drama queen, I swear!
