I was reading an article over at "The Good Men's Project" that I clicked over to after reading an excellent article about condom use, and I really wish I hadn't. It was an article full to choking with "I have survivors guilt. Why did I survive when other baybees died" and "My nightmares about being trapped underwater must be embryonic memories" and "Jaysus kept mah mama from abortin' me!"
If Jesus (I think he means God, but what ever floats his boat) could stop this guy's mother from aborting, he could stop all abortions if he wanted to, right? So I assume that since he doesn't it's because he doesn't want to. I have just turned this guy's "ministry" into an argument for why Jesus must be pro-choice.
*Sorry in advance, I'm sure this is disjointed and weird, I took my sleep meds, and they're kicking in.

I once read something from Six Million Secrets, the opposite situation. The person actually wished she was aborted, she is a child of rape and her mother is lesbian.
You are awesome, Remi!!! Survivor guilt for not being aborted! Bwah, ha, ha, ha, Ha!! OMG! Ha, ha, ha, ha, haaaaaaa!!! I have tears it's so funny!!! Ha, ha, ha!!!!!! That's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard!!! My face hurts from laughing so hard! What a total jackass! HA, HA, Ha!!!! I love this forum!
Some people really don't have enough REAL things to worry about, do they? My mother is pro-choice, does that mean I could have been aborted? Oh NOOOOOOOOOO! Wah!

The thing about people like this guy is they seem to think "pro-choice" somehow translates into "any woman who is pro-choice will always think about aborting her baby, even the ones she actually planned for."

My survivor's guilt is actually much more spectacular... I could have ended up being one of the 100 million sperm who didn't reach my mum's egg!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Methinks an appointment with a good counselor is in order. He might have survivor's guilt ... but that's something that needs to be dealt with whether it's for a BS reason or if you're the last person out of the World Trade Center. Second, really? I knew someone who claimed he had PTSD from a moderately rough move in childhood. He claimed that kept him from taking risks as an adult. Ok, I get that the move was, apparently, traumatizing. However ... seriously, dude, if that means you expect to be treated with kid gloves and helped as one might help someone who was a POW ... not happening. Time to move on.
I guess I'm extra insensitive because miscarriages run in my mother's family (is that mildly ironic?) and I was almost miscarried at 5 months. Um ... so? I wouldn't exist or maybe I would in a different DNA combination or something else entirely. Maybe it would have been better. Maybe it wouldn't. It's not like I or anyone else knows. It's not a tragedy, it's a philosophical question.
He's giving the credit of his existence to Jesus, like he carried him around in a magical man-uterus for 9 months and then pushed him out of his mangina. Possible? Maybe, but-I highly doubt it. If this idiot is glad he wasn't aborted he should thank his Mama.
@Remi said, If Jesus (I think he means God, but what ever floats his boat) could stop this guy's mother from aborting, he could stop all abortions if he wanted to, right?
God allows people free will; He permits them to make their own choices, and he does not always intervene.
I don't really wish to argue about all that specifically, but to remind folks, again, that some of the readers and participants here (and on other child free forums) are Christians (and/or conservatives). Must you refer to Jesus Christ as "Jaysus" and so on? There's no need to be disrespectful or mocking when referring to Christ or his followers.
I've actually said it before, but I believe in God, and Christ. But there's a line I draw, which is people who use religion for outrageous things*. I consider this outrageous. God gave people free will for a reason, but you can't have it both ways, and this guy seems to think you can. If Jesus intervenes in one case, why wouldn't he intervene in others?
*I use Jaysus to denote the style of speech used by fire and brimstone preachers. Not to mock Christ. I might not be a Christian, my beliefs might differ in fundamental ways, but I don't mean to disrespect Christ, only a certain subset of his followers.
