Thanks! I enjoyed reading this a lot, well written and I like the bean analogy :)

This has certainly happened to me, and its usually followed with an indignant "well you're too young to know what you want anyway" when I still protest that I'm not having babies.

Funny, how the ones who tell me I'm "too young" to know what I want are the same ones warning me not to spend too long on my education and career when "I'm not getting any younger and don't want to leave it too late to have babies..."

Love the article, Ida, thanks for sharing. Yes, I've had this conversation many times before, usually including the phrase "You don't know what you're missing!"

Yes I do, and I'm glad I'm missing it!

Great article.

I didn't really know what living was until I ate lima beans!

Eating lima beans makes you a better person. It's God's will that you eat lima beans.

People who don't eat lima beans are missing out on an important part of life.

You'll regret not eating lima beans when you're old.

Yes, they keep you awake at night, but it's so WORTH IT!

(Amazing how crazy the bingoes become when you put lima beans in instead!! Thank you Ida! )

Great article Ida!

I'm cracking up over the lima bean bingos. You are not a real woman unless you eat lima beans! Roar!

One day you'll met a man who knows a really good lima bean recipe and THEN you'll want to eat them!

Yes! That earthy musky aroma. I just want to cuddle it to death. Don't you?
Great essay and love the fetal lima bean metaphor.
My SO and I have decided to adopt an eggplant from Tuscany. I hope no lima bean fans are offended.
