I see that when people upload images they sometimes have a feature that allows that upload to be visible only to signed-in members. I'm not seeing anything on the dashboard that would let me do that (that I know of). How do I upload an image and make it members-only?

Unfortunately, we don't have that option here. I'll be honest with you: I don't feel it would do any good to have it. There's no membership screening, and registration is almost never closed. Anyone could create an account at any time and see the image you uploaded, even with that alleged "security feature" in use.

If you have concerns about who can see your images, but still want to put them up, I recommend you post them, then take them down after they've had a few days to be seen. If you were to go through the Faces to a Name thread, you'd see some people have done this. Where a picture used to be is a note saying "image removed by author" or something similar.

Things move pretty fast on TCFL. You might want to bookmark the page of the thread your image is on if you plan to edit the post later. Will save you some time.

Here's another trick to generate "private" pictures, if you have a Facebook account. Upload the pic to Facebook, then set it's visibility to be "only me". View the picture in your profile, then right click on it and choose (in Firefox, I'm sure IE and Chrome have a similar feature) "View Image". This will open up a page that consists of the picture by itself. You can copy the URL (which is the location on Facebook"s servers) and use that in your post.

If you are concerned about the image being tied to your Facebook account (the URL is pretty obscure, but I suspect that there are Facebook geeks who could figure it out), create a new FB persona that you use for only hosting pictures, I suspect this might not be withing FB's terms of service, but given the number of people I know whose pets have FB pages, I'm gonna guess they don't enforce it.
