I guess a song called "All you need to do is masturbate into this little cup" would not have the same cachet.
I can only think of a few but they're all ridiculously sappy. Like a tween's attempt at drama. There's that old country one (it's always country, isn't it?) that's got the chorus "Take me instead" that follows a guy from a date mugging (seriously) to his wife dying in childbirth. Or something like that. The few times I hear it anymore I'm usually giggling too hard from the cheesiness to really pay attention. Then there's just so few songs about childrearing that aren't horribly melodramatic. Sunrise, Sunset is one of the few that I find touching rather than gag-inducing. Also don't mind "Cat's in the Cradle" but more for the melody than the words. Just about every other one - no. Though, in fairness, I also dislike overly sappy love songs. Or ones that are just stupid. Look, I know that your first few fumbles with love include overblown emotion and some amateurish mistakes. It's normal. However please don't put those in verse as though they're the way love is supposed to be.
ETA - so it got me thinking and my favorite song about the whole topic is that old Sesame Street song "we're a family." Since it's for kids, each example family has a kid in it, but it's about how a family isn't about having the right people in the right roles, but just about having people who love each other and are committed to each other. Think that was an early CF seed for me since, by implication, children aren't required to make a full family.
Had to look up the name but "There goes my life" by Kenny Chesney drives me nuts! Cannot believe a song about unexpected pregnancy can do so well... but I guess it is america.

Whenever I hear that song, "She's Having My Baby", I go into a fit of rage. I hate it so so so much!!!
Speaking of country songs (I totally get why people hate them, but I like some of them). There is a song I actually like about kids and parents, its called, "Cleaning This Gun". A song about man who scares his daughter's first date by cleaning his gun when he comes to pick her up and tells the guy about his rules. I think it's hilarious and sometimes I wish I was a father just to scare the wits out of a kid.

That would be "Don't Take The Girl" by Tim McGraw. Not a fan of that one myself.
I also hate "You're Gonna Miss This" by Trace Adkins. It's basically about not wishing for yourself/your kids to grow up so fast because you're going to wish later that you had that time back. Very sappy.

"Don't take the girl" was one of the saddest songs I've heard, next to "Last Kiss" by J Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers(I thought it was Cochran, the original, but this is the version I heard). Another country song w/video that I couldn't deal with was something from Travis Tritt, where he's in a wheelchair and his pregnant wife was washing a boat, slipped and was rushed to the E.R. where she later died, but of course they were able to save the baby. I was about seven when I saw the video, and was like "why couldn't the woman live, they could just make another!" of course it was taboo to say that, but being an "innocent child" I was forgiven but told it wasn't nice.. Yeah, so it's nice that the guy gets to live his life without his one and only spouse, while he raises their kid.

LMAO. Oh, that made me laugh.
Man, you guys are bringing up stuff I forgot. That Creed one irritates me, and the "there goes my life".... YUCK. So sad. I mean good for the guy for stepping up to his responsibilities, but literally, there went his life.
Ok, I have to admit, the "don't take the girl" song, sappy as it is, I always kinda liked it because of the message. It's about the guy loving his partner so much that in various life-threatening situations, he asks to give up his own life/happiness so that the girl would be ok. Yes, one of them is about pregnancy, but whatever. I think it's sweet he loved her that much that he would trade his life for hers, even though he started out not wanting to "take the girl" fishing. Anyway.
I guess the country genre is the only one that really allows for discussion of famblee, lol. Can you imagine that in rap? Talk about hoes and baby mamas is about as much as you'd get. And Lady Gaga making a pop song? Oh yeah, lol.
The song "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman" by Bryan Adams has a line in there about "when you can see your unborn children in her eyes, you know you really love a woman." Blech. But other than that, I love that song.
