This is off-topic, but I am furious and NEED to vent.

I posted here one time before about my PITA of a sister and my mother who lets her get away with crap. My mom wanted me to spend the night yesterday. Against my better judgment, I did.

I came back hours ago and now what? My sister's accusing me of waterlogging her phone. Apparently, it's damaged somehow. I just called, asking what's wrong with her phone. You know what she said? Next time I touch her phone, I get locked up. One, I never put my hands on her phone. Two, she has no proof.

Anyway, I've had it now. I'm done with her and my idiot of a mother. She's a spoiled brat and my mom's a clueless idiot and I don't care how harsh that sounds. Neither of them are worth putting up with. My sister can go harass someone else because she's going to be cut out of my life - forever.

All I can say is: they're your family and that is simply an accident of birth. You don't have to like them or even have anything to do with them.

Another useful adage at this point is: YOU CAN CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS...

As far as I'm concerned, families are overrated and cause nothing but stress. I still have no clue as to why so much emphasis is placed on them.

My friends treat me better than they do! I can honestly say I've felt more loved by my friends than I ever have by my family, especially my mom and sis.

Vents on the theme of "my family sucks" are quite normal around here, don't worry.

Plus nobody's going to "lock you up" because she effs up and damages her own phone. If she appears at some police station with a water-logged phone and accuses you of damaging it, the cops aren't going to arrest you -- that's misdemeanor vandalism at worst even if she's got you dead to rights on video yelling "HAH HAH I'M GOING TO DROWN YOUR PRECIOUS PHONE, BITCH!" as you toss the thing into a pool. The cops are just going to treat her like the paranoid crazy lady she is and tell her to go home.

Crazy beeotch is just making empty threats to upset you, and it sounds like your mom is letting her favored GoldenChild bully her (distant, disobedient) target child. Sounds exactly like all the times my own dear Mawm, who could not stand up to me her own bad self, would set my A**hole Bully oldest brother on me so he could "get me" for her.

You are dead right in cutting these people out of your life. You can't fix crazy, especially when it's multi-generational crazy.

I'm not in fear of being arrested at all. It's just the accusation itself that pushed me over the edge.

You know what's weird, though? Her phone is supposedly damaged, yet when I called, she answered it. Either it's not THAT damaged or she's just starting up crap.

If it was waterlogged, she wouldn't have been able to answer it. I had to replace my last mobile phone after I shorted it out by dropping it into a martini at a nightclub (don't worry, the martini survived okay.)

Now, my mom calls and tells me I'm going to court. The only reason I even picked up is because she kept calling my house (I answered my cell).

She said it in this patronizing tone: "You're going to court."

I won't be surprised when the brat ends up arrested one day herself.

Assuming she's serious (and my mom is sue-happy), I wonder what the judge will say about suing a jobless 18-year-old still in high school.

Actually, it doesn't have to be random. I can accuse her (mom, not sis) of harassment for calling so many times and spouting nonsense.
